VAI’s In The Naperville Patch

Vai’s Italian Inspired Kitchen and Bar is set to open in Naperville, bringing Italian-inspired tapas, wood-fired pizza, craft cocktails, and imported wines to the space that once housed Jimmy’s Charhouse. Helmed by a father, two sons, and two longtime family friends, Vai’s will begin welcoming guests to the 916 S. IL-59 location at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14.

The extensive menu at Vai’s is designed is packed with shareable items. Nearly a dozen small plates are available, including mushroom carpaccio drizzled in goat cheese cream and balsamic vinegar, the shrimp and polenta veg-friendly greens and beans bruschetta.

Vegans also have an option available amid the restaurant’s eclectic selection of wood-fired pizzas: a vegan pie topped with roasted garlic, tomato, and basil. If you’re of a more carnivorous bent, sink your teeth into a pizza topped with meatballs and chili.

Meat lovers can also savor larger plates of Angus beef filet mignon, chicken Milan, or roasted wild salmon. Diners can pair their meals with blends from a long list of imported wines and brews or a craft cocktail.

The team at Vai’s says it ultimately hopes to “be a locale that mirrors the warmth of family, delivers comfort food that makes you happy, and is a place that has that ‘je ne sais quoi’ which draws people back and makes them want to spend their time with us.”
